What was the outcome What happened Sara Hammond Went From Therapist to Full-Time Online Teacher

Sep 30, 2022

During her 20-plus years as an extremely successful therapist Sara Hammond found herself continually confronting ethical issues. After she established her own practice She realized that conventional marketing did do not reflect her views within the therapy room.

Moral conflict resulted in her being not comfortable promoting her business via traditional social media marketing as well as in the way that she influenced people's behavior. Through the years she was confused about her beliefs.

"I had the impression that there was one value system that had meaning inside the clinic for treating, however when it came time to establish my own business outside of the treatment room I was required to take part in illegal influence as well as emotional manipulation" she explains.

"There was no way to choose that my peers had to follow. Marketing was not something I had been taught as part of my studies in therapy for professionals, and as such, it was a challenge to understand and I didn't know how to begin. ."

When she shared her experience with other therapists working for self-employment and therapists, she realized that they were all facing the same issue in their beliefs.

"I was in a huge group of therapists having the same issues. It was the general opinion that 'Well what's the best choice? Since we decide to follow our gut and stay clear of marketing completely, or implement a plan to market that isn't in line with our ideals."

After a brief period, Sara realized something was lacking. The concept of how Humans Heal came to life.

filling in the professional and personal gap

How Humans Heal offers the opportunity to learn about ethics-based marketing for Therapists. Not only did Sara's approach result in a full-time practice in only two years, it also bridged the gap between her personal and professional values.

"As psychotherapists, to feel completely at ease with what we're doing and also to communicate our message with sensitivity it is essential for our messages to appear as an extension of us when we're helping someone to be healed," she explains.

"Rather instead of seeking to follow an arbitrary sequence of strategies for marketing or launch promotions in a place that's quite isolated, Humans heal truly thinks about the things concerning humanity's connections to each other, honesty as well as authenticity, and seeks out ways to improve the quality of these."

     The recognition of universal principles

How Humans heal arose from a sense of genuineness and curiosity. At the beginning of lockdown, Sara sat down and came across the ideas that resonated with her and those she worked with.

"I thought to myself: Why does really matter for me? What are my priorities? What can I do to apply these concepts to every stage of the life of patients when they're in my practice Then I realized I had to invest more effort into those issues rather than just selling myself."

"I simply decided to stop to think about the situation. I was able to comprehend why my customers told me they came to me for a visit and also why they kept coming back repeatedly. What I kept hearing was, "I'm safe in your presence. It's like I'm learning to be able to trust my own. You don't appear to be trying to repair me. I feel like you're helping me to find my own way. This universal principle was the basis for the How Humans Recover ."

While she was contemplating her self-reflection during lockdown Sara thought, "Right it's the best time to really use these concepts and share them with other people.'

"I was forced to shut my practice for five months during the point we went into lockdown -- it was this unplanned time period that allowed me to flesh out my concept. This idea had been in an in my mind for a long time, but having a full clinic time. It was not my time to work on the idea," she explains.

With only hours spare, Sara knew she had to begin somewhere.

     Offering positive tasters

Before launching her nine-part pathway course, Sara offered online courses, and also a no-cost online course that lasts for five days, as well as the monthly newsletter.

"My objective with sales funnels was to begin discussing these concepts that are universal because there wasn't a terminology that could be used in the field. We just began discussing my personal values and what it means to share the beliefs of a person who practices. My original strategies gave me an opportunity to become an actual practitioner, and also to talk about my method and see what reactions were triggered. ."

The overwhelming responses to Sara's samples showed that there was need for the way Humans heal.

"I am so thrilled to hear the people say"Oh WOW! I didn't realize I would be compelled to constantly strive to enhance my skills. A majority of the time I'd rather walk a mile away from marketing, but this feels as if it's line with my values. That's what prompted me to seek out an online educational platform" she writes.

     To address the issue

Following the confirmation of the request for How Humans Heal, Sara was aware that she must transform the model to an online format that is instructor-friendly. Like many other creators who are looking to begin their online courses, Sara started researching.

" Absolutely was noticeable to me with regards to the accessibility of the website, as well as the philosophy of the business, as well as all the glowing reviews. It was easy to start. One of my main beliefs is the power of empowerment. My goal is to empower my students and being therapy, I'd like to help my clients become more confident. The empowerment aspect was evident. is a key part of  her teaching philosophy for teachers, and I really enjoyed what" she had to say.

For the first time after embarking on an entrepreneurial adventure, Sara felt equipped to change her ethical framework to an online training pathway.

"I could finally visualize the layout of my course and take action on the course's structure. I now have pre-recorded videos that are made available weekly over the eight-week course as well as emails with accompanying content which are sent every two weeks. There are also PDF assignments along with downloads. I also have an online library of resources to supplement the course materials as well as a the template."

"One one of the primary reasons for me to be a big enthusiast is because it's been easy for me to expand on these concepts. Video lessons are a big task when just starting out but it's manageable. It's not difficult to set up the different elements as you can just build them little by little. This wouldn't be possible without ."

     investing in communities

From the very beginning, Sara understood the importance of community, both inside and outside of the field of therapy. Through her approach to teaching, she made it her aim to provide students with a place in which they can be able to form meaningful connections.

"It's the best choice for both my students. It has the structure of the guided week-by-week pathway course. But, they're competent of taking part in the Community and being able to receive feedback via live Q&As and also. Community provides a place for students who don't always feel confident enough to attend with questions. It affirms the fact that the community is with them every step of the way, and allows them to talk about any topic they'd want to discuss ."

The HTML0 Communities added a layer that enhances Sara's student's educational experience in the classroom, it's also created a trend outside of the classroom.

"Our Community provides a counter to the"guru" model of wellness marketing. It's helped create a small group of individuals who agree and who are committed to this innovative approach to therapy professionals. It's the result that people are able to gather together and say, 'You know what you're saying, the traditional method of marketing doesn't work for us. It does not work for the vast majority of psychotherapists. We're not experts; we're here to aid clients. Rather, we're here to create a safe space for those who need it. "Our Community allows us actively talk about these concepts," Sara explains.

     The leap

Since the introduction of How Humans Heal at the beginning of the year over 100 people have completed Sara's training. Its success has enabled her to move into full-time work.

"I ended my therapy practice in December just before the holiday time. I made the transition between full-time therapy and full-time teaching , and not just as I do not enjoy my job as a therapist but I realized that I wanted to impart my ideas which is why I thought of a method that allowed me to accomplish this," she explains.

"Being an therapist has been life-changing for me and I realized that it is important to share these ideas in order to help fellow therapy professionals."

In giving advice to fellow entrepreneurs in the process of creating their own course, Sara explains that perfectionism is often a hurdle in the way of achievement.

"What kept me from taking the leap was an idea of how I wanted things to turn out. It's not one that you just turn off. You must be bold enough to start with an idea that's tiny. "Not to do nothing and not start, but to get going," she says.

"If you have a strong feeling or opinion regarding something and want something different, go with that. If you feel that something isn't functioning, you're probably right. It all comes down to being confident that you'll be able to create a change that is significant. Some people might be discussing about this issue, however you may be the person to act and take something about it. ."
