This is it! Unofficial jury awards from 2024 at Sundance Film Festival. Sundance Film Festival

Feb 4, 2024

The team of ours takes a trip every year to Park City, Utah, with a constant fascination where the path of cinema heading? What are the voices that influence the cinematic story today? What could The Staff Picks channel elevate and enhance their unique perspective of the world?

2024 is the year of year of the Sundance Film Festival's 40th. The festival was able to receive a record 12,000 short films were included in Sundance's award-winning, short film program, and only 53 films were selected for the program. We watched every one in the tradition of watching them all, and then we compiled a list of shorts we liked that didn't be awarded at the festival.

We've got our favorites:

U.S Fiction: "BUST" by Angalis Field

Fictional: "Ekbeh" by Mariah Eli Hernandez-Fitch

Special Jury Prize acting: Lux Pascal and Nicky DeMarie in "BUST," written by Angalis Field

Was else did we do?

Then, we stuffed our apartment like a clown car with as many filmmakers as possible and arranged to greet the filmmakers, request their autograph, and plop a few on the frontof cameras. Take a look at the posts on our Instagram to see snippets from our conversations with the directors Sean Wang and Sterling Hampton, and keep your eyes on the calendar for additional insights of Sundance's top.

Did Park City unseasonably warm from the 18th of January until the 28th day of January, due to global warming or simply because the show being screened in various theaters throughout Park City was a pure burning fire? The answer is cheeky...obviously that was because of the shorts. The heat is on as we get closer to SXSW as well as other events throughout the year. We'll look for more amazing videos for our Staff Picks Channel. Come back in the coming year!
