The Meet Fast Film: Inside's last year's interactive video

For the first time with, we reached out to people in our community of talent from all across the world - creative directors in the Netherlands as well as filmmakers from the UK animators from Australia as well as NGO activists in Nigeria for a few.

We then asked them to hop on their cameras, phones, and computers to answer three questions regarding the coming year:

  •   What's the goal you have this year?
  •   What is inspiring you this New Year?
  •   What are the most significant challenges that you are anticipating for 2023?

Their responses spoke to the power of community, like this gem from Creative Director of the film and Soursop co-founder Ravi Amaratunga Hitchcock...

"In individual streams we can only accomplish a certain amount However, when we work together we can accomplish massive, massive, massive things."

...and the infinite possibilities of storytelling, like this sentiment of Staff Pick filmmaker Faith Briggs.

"I don't want to just tell amazing stories. I'd like to share the stories that have meaning."

 The post process is streamlined

When we edited all of the video submissions together, we knew we wanted to each segment of the film stand on its own. We came up with a series of supercuts, with our top responses to the above three questions.

Then, in anticipation of creating interactivity, the's team set a few ground guidelines to help transform the video from sizzles and raw footage into an immersive experience.

  •   Create an interactive element in the first ten seconds  
  •   Set a timer of 15 to :20 in between hotspots
