We spoke to Soosh about her secret for capturing those small moments of everyday life through her art
"Hello, I'm Soosh. I was born and raised in the company of people. I am not a part of any religious, ethnic, or national background or any other. Although I am aware that there are modes of painting and drawing that can be described as styles, I never gave an ounce of thought about what type of style my drawings would fit into. If I were to find the words for it, it's a "fairytale realistic" kind of style. But speaking frankly, no style.
The key to success, according to me, is to see using your heart as with your eyes. It might take some repetition to notice the small details, just like every other skill. The trick is to remain silent for a few minutes and be very much present in the present moment. Take note of what you are doing. Be attentive, and not hurry.
My focus has always been people. Their expressions on their faces and mimicry of their actions, their gestures actions of kindness and their weaknesses - all of it is so fascinating and fascinating to me. After that, it's the matter of two pencils and some watercolour to dive in and bring to life these everyday pictures printed on paper."
