Ben L Collins, the Google Sheets expert behind the education website benlcollins.com Ben L Collins is extremely grateful for his membership company and the economics of creators all over the world. "When you're creating something, no matter if you're creating something creative or the technical content for a different construction-related membership, when an uninitiated person opens their wallet and gives you money, you realize that you're extremely fortunate to be in a position where you're able to do the type that you'd like to be doing and interact with thousands of people.

"If you're taking time to - firstly - look at my offerings and love it to the point that you're willing to make a commitment I'd be delighted to do everything that I could to ensure that it is the best possible for you," he continues.

Ben loves membership because it's not just one time cost "We're not discussing an agreement for consulting that clients hire them to do the work which is documented and organized and everyone knows the terms of the services they're acquiring. It's more of a connection to the one who says"I'd would like to be a part of your bandwagon in the coming calendar year or even to join for just a month or a quarter. I'm impressed with what you're accomplishing. I'd like to be a part of the team and become part of the group."

The membership program he is a part of gives motivation to try what you can to be the best as well as to create incredible content. "People naturally trust me when I say that I will create quality content, but I also really want to make it available for them and for me. "

Ben affirms that it could help to establish a great bond with others in the group "I feel that I'm doing something for the group rather than being an anonymous person buying a course without knowing if anybody even takes notice of it. The experience is more tangible for the entire group, or the participant. The goal is to create the feeling of a deeper connection with someone that goes beyond being transient."

From "always ever" to microdeliverables

The epidemic of covid-19 hit. Ben taught classes about manipulating data with Google Sheets for 10 years. "I was able to teach more than 15 classes through Teachable which could have more than 25 dates of the launch of certain courses, and when they were re-launched. In teaching courses, you have to really put in as much - or more effort to marketing the course than actually teaching the course. While it's interesting however, I'm not an avid fan and it's my least favorite thing."

Ben L Collins Ben L Collins had taught online courses for ten years prior to the covid strike took place.

Ben discovered that he enjoyed working on the technical spreadsheet, and also assist others. "People came to me asking questions such as "How can I accomplish this?' It would make for an intriguing problem to tackle.

"Membership is an idea I thought about in the past two years."" says Ben. "I liked the concept due to the fact that it's a regular source of revenue. Members don't have to introduce some new product to earn revenue where you have a big spike but then you're without an income after." It's a safer platform that lets the creator concentrate on the creation process along with the interaction with users instead of having to handle the marketing.

"For awhile, I've considered an affiliation but had never made it beyond my initial study. I was concerned that it might feel if I was always on when I followed the same kind of structure that made me feel like I was constantly doing something. I always retreated however, I would be able to continue following the course." He had achieved what was his goal.

"I'd almost completed all the topics I would have learned from my complete-courses. It was difficult to locate other courses that weren't becoming more sophisticated, and as a result it's less sought-after among higher-end things," he continues. "There wasn't any economic reason to run particular courses I'd think about."

Ben insists that he felt burning out. "I thought 'I have to make 100 Teachable videos', which have to be put together into part of a single piece. It was difficult to come up with the motivation I needed to purchase and put it all together in one huge block. It's hard to know how many people are going to buy the item. "

Ben explains that online courses require authors to publish their course before attempting to sell the course. Moreover, it is impossible to tell whether it will be an success. "It could take anywhere from 3 to six months to create an outstanding course. If your course isn't able to sell on the market, you won't be able to offer your course later on, " he adds. "I knew that I wanted to keep in touch with my students, which could be based on microdeadlines and microdeliverables."

It was logical to join. "I'll commit to the newsletter every week, and there are templates and tutorials however they don't have to be part of one massive topic, and they may be linked to each other. It could be quicker and easier to manage for me, and easy for readers to digest."

From a standpoint of a consumer perspective Many users do not take the time to finish their online classes "It's hard to buy the course that contains 10 hours of video content. It's tough to fit into 10 hours of videos, this is the reason why you give up and don't get around to doing it. But, if you receive one email a week, you can arrange for an hour of breaks during your lunch break, as well as gain numerous benefits over the week, before having put it aside for the next week." Ben explains.

The spring of 2024 was when Ben started to think about the possibility of joining. Throughout the summer, he wrote down the exact details of the membership type at the time he started the club in September.

Email is the one that remains effective

In the interview he conducted about his professional career, Ben is keen to acknowledge his coworker. "I'm blessed that I have my wife that is able to do everything prior to. She's had an own business, she's launched a number of products and has managed to build a list of addresses for email." Ben was given several suggestions throughout his time in the field of membership "that proved to be extremely valuable" and one of those lessons was the necessity of establishing an email database.

His wife, Ben's was employed as a content strategist at the time he decided to expand his network. "She worked in an agency that handled marketing for clients, and also wrote blog posts, SEO, as well as social media. It was extremely useful in the context of the things I was trying accomplish at the time." Ben adds.

"Emails are your primary method to connect or interact with your audience" he continues. However, he admits that this might not be true for people younger than his age However, he says: "The problem with social media and particularly modern platforms such as TikTok are they can create an illusion of separation between the user and their followers.

You create content, and the platform displays it, you'll be able to see which is most popular and trending. Whatever number of followers you may have, thousands or 100,000 followers when your content doesn't rank according to an algorithm, only the smallest portion of people are viewing the content. You could have a weak connection. Your activity is determined by the guidelines of the platform. If they change their algorithms or go out of style We've seen a number of social media sites cease to exist, which is why keeping an emailing list is essential.

Here are some tips for those who would like to be membership operators

"If anyone were to create an account now I'd recommend to them "You need to start!" Ben smiles. "With retrospect, I'd prefer start it two years earlier. It's the things that take longer. Once you begin and get going more time you be able to enjoy."

It's not that difficult to carry out some more investigation "You could convince yourself that there's something missing or there's more efficient way of doing this. I've been there a few times. If you do hit "Go" and you release something in the universe and connect with real people, the item takes on new meaning. Then you begin to tackle problems you need to resolve and not just abstract questions."

The author suggests that people not think too much: "If you're addressing someone's desire for assistance to solve an issue, and you are able to start to discuss it, then begin talking with them! Your capacity to change will come in the course of time."
