Stellantis' power is empowering limitless learning via video
With an international workforce of over 300,000, Stellantis is the maker of names like Peugeot, Fiat, and Chrysler recognizes the importance of scaling, well, almost everything. "We are within the top five automotive makers in the world," says Phil Price, Head of The Performance Academy, Stellantis. "As the development and learning area grew, we quickly realized that it's really focused on what we could offer our employees to increase their performance." Then, The Performance Academy was born.
The headquarters are in the auto capital of England The team at The Performance Academy produce thousands of hours of training content to Stellantis employees. However, to stay in touch with their growing employee base, they needed a repeatable way to share information with teams across all over the world. "We've invested a significant amount of time analyzing the ways people would like to learn," says Phil. "Video-based online instruction is the way to go."
An active part of the community for nearly a decade, the team is always aware of the benefits of video. This is why Stellantis has changed their strategy away from in-person towards an entirely online approach. "With face-to-face instruction the requirement is to duplicate it 10 times with the expense of 10 different costs," he says. "With video, scalability has unlimited possibilities."
Unrestricted learning
"We have, typically, 350 hours' worth of content available each weekly period," notes Phil. "Behind those 350-hour period, we've got tens of thousands of hours worth of content that has been developed and created over the last 12 years."
This library of information allows employees to be trained when and where is best for their needs. "Our training is accessible 24/7," he adds. "That's important, because there are people taking it on their own time as they are aware that they'll enhance their performance."
Powerhouse Productions
Today, The Performance Academy is expanding to provide live streamed live on a regular basis, from sales trainings to board-level communications. To pull it off, The Performance Academy has invested into their production capabilities which is a miniature Hollywood studio located in the middle of Coventry, England.
"Look at where we're today," says Phil. "We're within our own studio. We're in our own ability to generate an overlay animation, perform any task we'd like to. Whatever you can be able to see in a film is now possible to do with The Performance Academy."
Growth Partners
Now empowered with professional production equipment and an expert team of L&D experts, The Performance Academy uses the power of production, hosting, and distribute their work. "As the development and learning sector has grown, it The Performance Academy has been developing its delivery methods, models and reports," says Phil. "We've really benefited from that."
" As an organisation, we're contemplating, "how do we bring this amazing work and give it to an end-user?' " The advantages we work with is that we're in charge," notes Phil. "It's an affirmation of capacity, the right partners appropriate team members, and right ideas for what the future holds."
