Simple collages by The CreativeMindClass Blog

On Sunday afternoon I accidentally discovered Olga posting stories on Instagram of my neighborhood from childhood. In the middle of Warsaw's concrete jungle is an undiscovered, holy green space. I often visited it in the summer to stare at beautiful old pine trees and catch a breath of nature within my urban airways. In her tale, Olga visited this area for the first time but she also got mesmerized by one of the oldest backyards in Warsaw. In the near future, I am sure she'll paint a Boernerowo inspired painting.

We asked Olga what she uses as the basis for designing her minimalist collages as well as paintings of human-shaped landscapes

"My Name is Olga Szczechowska, and I'm living in Warsaw. Since the age of a youngster, I've drawn and painted numerous times. I was a student at the art high school, and took classes in Painting as well as Cultural Studies at the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun.

I'm a painter, illustrator as well as a graphic designer. Through my work, I concentrate on the connection between humankind and nature by closely observing how we shape our backyards. When I look at hedges that have been trimmed, decorative plants, and meticulously designed home gardens I'm trying to capture the mysterious environment that surrounds us."

"For some time, I've also been creating simple collages. These collages were inspired by landscapes, still lifeor made as the result of experimentation with forms, textures and colors.

My work is diverse because painting and collages are very different, but they do have something that they share: they relax. I've heard this phrase from my audience many times I believe it best describes the nature of my work. When I'm bored of painting, I make collages and vice versa. One style is a temporary way to escape the one.

I believe that being aware is essential. I am attentive to all I see, including architectural structures, nature, as well as objects. All this is reflected in my artwork. Through my work, you do not see a human , however, we can feel the sense of human presence in trimmed hedges or in a mug that is left in the kitchen table."
