In the calculation of MRR, ARR and MRR

Previously, upgrades, downgrades, as well as add-ons, were sometimes not properly tracked or reported with respect to subscription reports. This issue has been fixed so that calculations can be more correct going forward.

What changes should I expect to see at My Store?

If you're an avid user of upgrades, downgrades, or add-ons You may notice that the MRR and ARR fluctuate slighty due to the newly updated calculations. The calculations are more precise than the previous ones, thanks to these fixes. If you are still unsure you can contact us at [email protected].

Historic MRR Changes

Prior to this, we would use the date of deactivation to search on the date of cancellation before removing MRR contributions. This could have an unintended consequence changing the historical MRR value. To address this, we have improved our analysis to record cancellation events on the day of cancellation , and eliminate MRR contribution on that day.

Example of Changes

We will consider an annual subscription that was activated in January 2023. The subscription was cancelled in May 2023, then deactivated in December 2023. Our prior MRR contribution calculation would not be changed until the end of the end of December 2023. This could have altered the MRR contribution for the period of May to December of 2023.

In the present, using the dates from the example above the calculation takes away the MRR contribution from the subscription starting at the cancellation date in 2023, which is May, resulting in a more accurate MRR changes calculation.

What changes should I expect to see at My Store?

For some sellers, this might result in an increase in the number of cancellations and an increase in the MRR of subscribers and customers who are active. If you have any questions regarding this report, you can reach out to [email protected].
