Motion and space in illustration - The CreativeMindClass Blog
Since I was a kid I've loved to draw, paint, and work with my hands. This has always been my most natural method for me to express my feelings. But growing up in Taiwan and in Taiwan, having the art of making was often thought of as a negative thing and often told by adults to study more practical subjects otherwise I'd end being hungry on the streets.
My mom was always encouraging me to pursue anything that I desired and has done everything that she could to help me reach my dreams. When I returned to the United States and graduating high school, I decided that I would like to pursue art as profession.
I was admitted to ArtCenter College of design, where I studied Illustration, with the goal of moving into feature animation. However, along the way I discovered motion graphics and was enthralled by its versatility , as well as the amazing work that is created by people I greatly respect.

What would you say about the style you prefer?
It's still a long road to discovering a fashion that I'm able to claim as my personal. I tend to want to try various new styles every now and then... A month I'll want to do something very vibrant, and then I'll experiment with the more natural-looking colors. I'll find myself enthralled by a particular shape driving style for a time, one day suddenly I'll become bored and want to try a style that's inspired by the lines.
In other instances, I'll combine two things are intriguing to me, like I'm on an endless quest to discover and gain knowledge. However, after experimenting a at times, I'm noticing the specific designs, colours, or compositions I'm drawn to, perhaps that's a start of a design style?
It's one of the reason why I love working at Oddfellows and sometimes, I find myself wondering if I'm lucky to work with an amazing group of individuals. In the workplace, we are often required to adjust to various styles depending on the project. virtually every project has to be completed in different styles which is why I am constantly learning new things from my colleagues every day.
What's the secret to creating your illustration?
I love to draw sketches of topics that I am intrigued or curious in and then give my own spin to it.
But most importantly I like having fun. Fun is the most important factor in creating anything, viewers can really tell if a creator had fun making things... that extra sparkle.
As I was battling the epidemic, and seeing the staff at my studio as well as my friends trying their best in helping the local community and the community, I felt compelled to create a Patreon named Joy&Frens which gives half of my net income goes to charities chosen by my patrons. On it, I share Tips & Tricks, process videos, and invite my friends to collaborations and offer their expertise.
I also show my work on Instagram and on my website.
