"Let's begin with the words that best describe my work: strong as well as expressive, and rich."

What was the process of transferring the concept of architecture into mixed-media images?

"When the moment came to decide on a career I was told, as numerous others, to not pursue a career in arts. The advice was well-informed and I followed. Then I graduated with a Bachelor and Master's Degree in Architecture and being utterly dissatisfied with my work the front of a computer. In my time off after university, I started making illustrations, drawings, and products with my designs on them, which made me feel happier!

All of it started right when I was offered a position at an office for architecture that I am now working on alongside my illustration work and ongoing studies in the field of art history. I'm hoping that I can quit the job in corporate architecture soon enough and concentrate fully on the art I love as well as using mixed-media methods.

I'm hoping my tale will aid individuals who aren't sure which subject to pursue to understand that the degree in art isn't important. You are an artist regardless of any background and the best part is that this can give your work a distinctive look. Naturally, attending an art school is a wonderful learning experience too!"

How would you describe your style of illustration?

"I think describing your own style is something extremely difficult. I asked my friends about this one and what they said about it could not be more exact. My art appears like everything I paint is being moved by the wind as if it is blowing through the artwork and dropping colors on everything it touches. There is no better way to describe it honestly.

I enjoy layering textures and exploring a variety of colors, I am the ultimateist in this regard. The more difficult I attempt to constrict a color palette more, the greater the range of colors becomes.

When we take a look at my subjects options, some of my most favorite subjects to draw are landscapes that feature mountains and oceans, as it reminds me of my childhood home in Tenerife, a quaint little island situated in the Atlantic ocean.

However, I also draw human-like figures with over-the-top features and vibrant skin. And of course, I will always incorporate any architectural aspect - "the 6 years of architecture studies must be represented somewhere."

What's the secret for creating mixed-media artwork?

"I consider that the secret in my art is to not plan too much beforehand. In reality, this technique sometimes works however it is not always successful However, not being over the end result allows you to be free to explore your art.

I like seeing the process of coloring , painting and changing my mind when I finish my work. This shows the relationship I have with the paper, my surroundings, as well as to my paint and you will see my process of decision-making on the final product.

I like being able to play with my hands and mix up my own colors. All you need in order to reproduce my artwork is a variety of various materials (doesn't require anything expensive, but I prefer mixing different mediums) and a loose hand, and the courage to layer paint and start from scratch."
