The family is a creative one for artist and illustrator Kentaro Yoshida. His mother, also an artist, was an important influencer on his work--even when she wasn't entirely on board of his professional choices. "First she disagreed with me making it a full-time professional. I believe she understood the difficulties due to her experiences. But I gave the idea a shot and, thankfully was able to make it through," Kentaro says. "She is certainly the greatest source of inspiration in my life."
Kentaro is a native of an unassuming fishing town located in Toyama, Japan, but moved to Australia when he was 18 years old, which is where he currently lives in Sydney. Since then has led to a lucrative full-time freelance career as an artist. His offerings include paintings, prints and custom surfing boards and murals, as well as working with big brands as well as musicians.
