Karl's presence on the internet has let him showcase his talents to a plethora of clients without difficulty. "One among the most appealing qualities is that I can just drop and drag pictures to change their arrangement at the moment of need," Karl says.

The social network is a key factor in Karl's achievement in photography. It is the sharing of ideas between fellow Black photographers gives him the camaraderie of this industry that could feel lonely in some situations. Karl is hoping to share the passion he has experienced through his work so that he can create the same kind of social network for the new artists in the industry. "Paying the forward means being available," Karl says. By openly sharing his experience as well as his knowledge, Karl hopes to help others become the most creative that they can possibly be.

If asked to suggest something he would say to the younger version of himself someone who's just started his photography career, Karl's advice is: "Don't get so intense that you cease to enjoy creating. Taking a beat and enjoying your work is the best thing to do when you're photographer."

Black In Corporate

Ambassador and social media consultant Candace Marie is the founder of Black In Corporate The Black In Corporate organization that advocates for Black employees in corporate settings. The concept behind Black In Corporate came from her own experience navigating workplaces where discrimination against minorities is one of the major factors that makes it hard for Black employees to succeed. "While Black In Corporate was developed from personal experience," Candace says, "a key reason for starting the nonprofit was due to the fact that I realized there were many Black residents of my community that had experiences similar to mine, even though they weren't identical to my own."

One of the many pillars which Black In Corporate is based upon is the Virtual Mentorship Program, which gives Black professionals with access to possibilities, resources, and collaboration. Black In Corporate's website has played a major role in helping to spread awareness of the program's existence to the targeted audience. "While social media and press are the major drivers for users, the beautiful design and the ease of navigation within the site will ensure that customers are connected and coming back," Candace says about the efficiency of the website.

The phrase "it requires the entire village" especially rings true in the case of Candace and her journey with the birth of Black In Corporate. The company has grown tremendously with the support of mentors, sponsors as well as members of the family and friends who have helped her along her journey. There are numerous ways Candace can provide the same help in the form of support to Black professionals. "This process isn't simple enough by itself," she says. "Whenever I can offer some tips or join an event or introduce a potential friend, I'm committed to nurturing others Black people in this space."

Elton Anderson Jr.

Over the span of 14 years Elton Anderson Jr. worked in the field of photography as photographer. He shot famous individuals and most famous brands. The decision was made to switch to a different direction as he realized that his career path that he'd always enjoyed was not fulfilling. After a serious case of malaria during a trip to Brazil, Elton vowed to commit his whole life in making himself better and helping others.

At present, Elton is doing just this with his work every day. Alongside seeking new positions such as creator, producer, and travel show host, Elton also launched Creators of Color, an online platform which tells stories of Black creators across a variety of sectors.

The reason for Elton taking these changes is a crucial element of creative thinking. The advice Elton gives to younger Black creatives wanting to alter their work is to trust their instincts. "If there's no way to say Yes the answer is Yes," Elton says. "This principle has made my numerous career transitions significantly more efficient as well as true to my experiences."
