A domain for a website is the URL that you enter into your web browser to open a particular web page. A URL for a web page has number of parts:

Protocol or scheme

Subdomain

Domain name or second-level domain

Top-level domain (TLD)

Subdirectory or page route

A majority of users will need to pay attention to their domain name, TLD, and page paths. Your domain name is the distinctive identifier of your site ("" in .com) and the TLD is the extension of your domain (like .com, .net, or .org) as well as your page path will be the URL of your site (like "/blog" in .com/blog).
