Do you wish to create a website selling the educational materials you have created and want to earn recurring revenue? Well, you've come to the right spot! All you need to do is utilize our Learning plugin Sensei, with and Woo Subscriptions extension. Woo Subscriptions extension and you can begin selling Courses!

As a precondition for this tutorial, you should be familiar with WordPress in addition to setting up and configuring themes and plugins. This tutorial is not meant for beginners (although you can attempt it if you are feeling adventurous) It is targeted for those looking to gain more out of their Sensei enabled WordPress website.

Requirements

The tools you'll need to build your site are the following tools:

  1. A WordPress powered website hosted by WordPress. WordPress powered site (not WordPress.com)
  2. A functioning PayPal account is required to accept payments.

Site setup

  • Make sure WordPress is running and properly configured.
  • Activate the Definition theme and make your changes to the theme using the Theme Options panel.
  • You must activate it. Then, activate the Sensei plugin and modify its settings.
  • Install the plugin and set its settings. Make sure that you have already set the settings within the Sensei's settings panel.
  • If you're not yet creating or published any content, you are able to begin creating your courses and Lessons using this guide.

Configuration

  • When you've finished everything above, you would need to add the Paypal email address to the settings for your payment gateway.
  • Next activate the Subscriptions for extension.
  • Now, you will need to configure your Paypal IPN information using this guide and then add your IPN information to the Paypal settings screen during step 2.

Create Subscriptions

  • You then need to create a new Subscription product, There are two types of subscription products that you can create:
  • Simple Subscriptions
  • Variable Subscription
  • It's important to note it is important to note that Subscription product needs to be configured to "Virtual" as well for Simple subscriptions.
  • Assign the Subscription product, or a variation of it, to the Course that you plan to offer by following this step-by-step guide - remember, Subscriptions are a different kind of item, so you do not have to fret about loads of customizations!
  • And that's it! Your learners can now enjoy your course, while you earn recurring revenue
