Colored Pencil Flowers CreativeMindClass Blog
If I were forced to pick a word to represent my style of drawing, it would be 'Spring'.
I would like people to look at my drawings and feel they're blooming, as if a spring warm with flowering blooms.
Cottagecore is the life style I choose and value. The reason might be that I live in Seoul, a big city and I love rural life and natural sceneries more than what my eyes take in every day.
In lieu of spreading intensity instead, I prefer to express a peaceful and tranquil mood, similar to what I see in nature.
What's the secret to making your illustrations?
First, I'd like to share the things that I find inspiration in. I find joy even in the smallest of objects. The flowers I encounter in a garden or the whispers of a flower that flutter when wind blows and even a little bloom at the end of a road I pass as I walk.
My work is mostly in the style of tiny wildflowers. Natural landscapes from old botanical encyclopedias, and landscapes from rural areas can also be a source of ideas. I keep a large amount of information through images and frequently take notes on colored pencil art ideas.
Secondly, let's talk about the technique of work. I create drawings to the level of large-scale details as if they were actual flowers. I also communicate my thoughts with the use of color.
I employ sharp colored pencils with pointed tips to draw the design of the bloom. Then I create a relaxing and warm mood by making use of pastel tones instead of strong shades.
It is also my preference to put simple and rough paper using the paper flower technique to create an impression of blooming flowers.
Instead of drawing just for fun instead, I believe that creating flower designs on paper creates a greater sense of beauty. This is a closer translation from my own imagination.
