Aescapism as an Art CreativeMindClass Blog
I'm from Venezuela. My birthplace was in a city which was surrounded by palm trees and mountains however, I was never able to experience my surroundings fully (partly because of the overprotection of my parents and, more importantly, due to the apprehensions that pervaded my country of birth). For the most part reading and watching television were my main means to relax - just like drawing! I was constantly drawing my favorite characters from anime, as also my loved ones, family as well as pets that I didn't have, costumes, and every other thing else.

It was more of a hobby which I was a bit certain that I would never do anything more than that in Venezuela. My family later decided to move to UK which was a major change for me. As a teen I had finally been granted greater freedom, and I was able to go on excursions areas on my own and contemplate the things I would like to accomplish.

My fascination with the design of characters and stories prompted me to look up comics that later inspired me to sketch. The pieces all were put together. Following a few years of studying (and many hours of work) I'm currently freelance as an illustrator in London.

My style is playful, bold and a bit messy (in very good way!). It can be straightforward or extremely detailed, but it always features a character or animal or a beautiful scene. My illustrations all belong to the same.

What is important to me is to have fun performing it. It's easy to think of my fascination with certain things as growing up: vibrant colours and characters that are sneaky, hilarious situations, tiny details to become lost within. The aim of my work is to record as much of these aspects each when I create something unique. If I can get the viewer to feel happy or content or as if they've discovered something completely new that's my goal.

"Another crucial element that I value is my sense of humor. In the course of time, I've realized that I'm not the best person to make very abstract or serious art however I'm pretty adept in creating something enjoyable and lighthearted to inspire laughter. I work to my strengths right now."
